Description

Oreo Turkey Treats are a fun, no-bake Thanksgiving dessert made with Oreos, candy, and frosting to resemble turkeys. They’re popular for kids’ crafts or holiday celebrations. Here’s a basic breakdown of what they involve:

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate:

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate wafers using the microwave's low or defrost setting. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval until smooth. Let the chocolate cool slightly.

  1. Prepare your workspace:

Line a baking tray or board with parchment paper. Carefully separate the Oreo cookies and place the halves on the parchment.

  1. .Add the feathers:

    • Work with 4–6 cookie halves at a time to prevent the chocolate from hardening too quickly.
    • Spread a small amount of melted chocolate near the top edge of each cookie half.
    • Arrange 5 pieces of candy corn in the melted chocolate to resemble feathers, pressing gently.
  1. Assemble the turkeys:

Place the remaining cookie halves back on top, sandwiching the candy corn feathers in place.

  1. Add the eyes:

    • Use a skewer or toothpick to apply a small dab of melted chocolate to the front of the cookie where the eyes will go.
    • Press two candy eyeballs into the chocolate.
  1. Create the beak:

    • Dab a small amount of melted chocolate below the eyes.
    • Place a halved Reese’s Pieces on top of the chocolate to form the turkey’s beak.

  1. Add the snood:

Use red cookie icing to pipe a small line next to the beak, creating the turkey’s wattle or snood.

  1. Set the turkeys:

Transfer the Oreo Turkeys to the refrigerator for 5–10 minutes to set.
